Following the main directions of the “General Urban Traffic Plan” of Bologna, such proposal is a pilot project integral to the urban regeneration of the northern suburb area of the city and serves as a ‘hub’ for a variety of transport modes: regional trains, lightweight metropolitan, extra-urban bus and car with a parking of 330 places.
From this the propose focuses on creating the main Bologna’s Terminal of interchange able to contain a transportation center (seating areas, information and ticketing point), retail units and facilities for the waiting and social functions, utilizable by the users and the people living and working in the surrounding areas.
The terminal is characterized by a canopy able to create a sheltered square that, together with the open space on which the activities of public use face, contribute to render the terminal more functional and attractive, giving, in the same time, a stronger identity for the station.
